Play of the Day: The White House Is 'Freaking Out' About the Shutdown

The emoji chart for the administration is changing.

According to a New York Times report over the weekend, President Donald Trump was under investigation in 2017 to determine if he was working on behalf of Russia. The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon joked about the news, saying that Vladimir Putin denied the report, saying Trump was "more like an unpaid intern."

The government shutdown affecting over 800,000 federal employees is into its fourth week. Fallon joked about the length of the shutdown, saying that D.C. now looks as bleak as an "abandoned Toys R Us." Over the weekend, an unnamed White House official said the staff was “freaking out" because there's no exit strategy. Late Show's Stephen Colbert joked that the White House now as an emoji chart for the mood in the administration, ranging from "freaking out" to "Giuliani."
